Why Your High School Dates Were Pointless
The reddit self-improvement and seduction community! Want to start a local lair? Want local sedditors? Seddit Simple Questions Thread. Is dating in high school pointless for me and should I wait until college? I'm 17 years old and I graduated in 6 months. I've never dated anyone. I'm 6'6, in reasonable shape, and I do a lot of community stuff for my town of My biggest interests are reading, traveling, computers, politics, and showing my dog.
I don't really find a lot of people in my community whose interests align with mine. I'm also an Aspie, which further complicates things socially. I believe, at least, I'm a somewhat interesting person in my school. I don't know what I should do and would like some opinions. Try to have friends, and some of those should be girls. Girls can tell you what girls like and don't like.
Sometimes they know that there are girls who are interested in you, and you have no idea about it. Beyond that, just be yourself. Every girl I've been with has never showed me romantic interest in me at first until I talked to them and got to know them for a little bit. Secondly, the fact that you have aspergers could contribute to you not being able to effectively read when other people are interested in you romantically.
You have to put yourself out there and you have to be able to see the signs because I think it's still unusual for a girl to flat out tell a guy that she likes them. That's why knowing girls as friends is important: When I was in high school I wasn't the kind of guy who attracted a lot of girls, but there was this one girl who liked me a lot, and I was totally blind to it.
I didn't figure it out until years later, and so many other people saw it, but I didn't. And we don't get to go back in time. Take your time. Don't put any pressure on yourself. Join one of your school's clubs. The more people you meet, the more your odds improve you'll find someone who'll be interested in you. The dynamics in high school, being what they are, means you don't want to simply pursue girl after girl; that makes you seem desperate.
You really have to get to know some girls on a casual basis first. Even if none of them become romantic interest, they can be sounding boards. Be patient, take it a step at a time. So you wouldn't take medical advice from a doctor or legal advice from a lawyer? Girls know a lot more about girls than guys will ever know. Every guy I've met who had a couple of sisters always did better with girls than most of the "players" I've met.

But what they don't tell you is that dating in high school is completely pointless. Now, I'm not saying that I don't believe in high school sweat. I didn't date in high school. At the time, I felt like I was missing out. But I think it actually benefitted me to start dating when I was more mature. Sometimes it seems.
As a year-old girl I always dreamed about the day I would enter the adult world of high school. They would be filled with kisses stolen under the bleachers, secret lover letters in my locker, and cute boys driving me around in their old beat up truck. However, as many of us know, this is not how the real world works. As young kids we believe that once you get to high school dating becomes a whole new game filled with late night adventures and cute text messages. But what they don't tell you is that dating in high school is completely pointless.

Be selfish, have fun and explore the world. The data show a trend toward individualism in this generation, as well as evidence that iGen teens are taking longer to grow up than previous generations did. One of the ways this shows up in their behavior is dating — or not: In large, national surveys, only about half as many iGen high school seniors vs. In the early s, nearly three out of four 10th graders sometimes dated, but by the s only about half did.
April 4, by CH. I have argued, forcefully , against online dating as anything more than a hobbyist supplement to meat space seduction. Strike two. Online dating emphasizes crude male SMV metrics such as height, at the expense of equally enticing male SMV criteria such as charm, body language, and social dominance. Strike three. To wit, Tinder is adding height verification for men. What other features would you like to see added? Online dating is only going to get worse for men. My advice to men is to get off your phones and hit the streets, bars, clubs, etc.

I didn't date in high school. At the time, I felt like I was missing out. But I think it actually benefitted me to start dating when I was more mature. Sometimes it seems like people who start dating at a young age grow accustomed to immature, unstable relationships, and then they continue to expect that in their relationships. I see questions on here being asked by people who are and when they describe their relationship, it makes me wonder if they're actually still in middle school.

Doesn't Christianity suggest casual dating is pointless/dangerous?
A lot of things have happened since I took a break from writing articles. I have been able to invest more time in discovering who I am and learning from experiences. Often times I find myself in situations that I am very uncomfortable with and have to get out of. I recently got into my first relationship ever which was really dumb and had a very bad experience. First things first, the guy and I had nothing and common.
When we become teenagers, we start to feel deep and strong emotions about each other, in different ways. BUT big but it should not turn into a sexual relationship, no one should be forced to do something they are uncomfortable with, just because you're ready for it doesn't mean anyone else is, there are consequences, you will probably break up with in 6 months, this probably won't be who you marry, just because you like someone doesn't mean you have to date them, you will probably be judged, and most importantly, dating isn't a secret. Everyone you know may find out. Your parents included. You should talk to them about your feelings and how to express them. Let's face it, the kind of relationships that people have in middle school normally aren't 'relationships'. Students need to have the opportunity to learn what it is like to have to handle school on top of having someone or something else to worry about.
