Bachelor Pad is refusing to let up on the drama, isn't it? Ed might have survived the rose ceremony last week by the skin of his teeth, but it's all anyone can talk about. Sarah's crying in the bedroom because she feels bad for hooking up with him and then voting for him and by the way Ed snubs her and refuses to talk to her, it seems he's not too happy about it either.
Reid's feeling pretty worried too, because if it gets out that he was the one behind the "get Ed out" campaign, he might be in a little trouble. That kind of sums it up! He realises he needs to figure out a new plan. Ed's head's also whirring - in fact, he feels so gutted about his close shave that he's thinking about leaving the show it's so awful being betrayed! Luckily, Jaclyn's there to warn him against being a quitter although to be fair, it's probably partly selfish - she would be in a tricky position if she was left without a partner.
The strategising has to stop momentarily, though, because it's time for a very messy challenge! Like prisoners on day release, the contestants are bussed out of the Bachelor Pad mansion, because they're about to face an obstacle course too big to fit in the mansion grounds. You should be! It's a hot fudge sundae-themed course.
That means at some point the contestants have to get into sacks and pour nuts on themselves. Nut sacks. Yes, really. Anyway, to stir things up a little the couples are being mixed up! No-one's competing with their usual partners. And it's a relay, so after the girls have completed the course, the men have to take over and do it in reverse. Let's take a moment to recognise the very douchiness of Kalon's comment about his new partner Erica: Erica will probably just eat her way through, Pacman style.
So the race starts and all the women get very messy very quickly, but Jamie's first to reach her partner - Ed. You'd think that would give Ed a good lead, and it does, and he then quickly squanders it by slipping and sliding all over the hot fudge wall he has to climb. That means Michael and David can take over and in fact their finish is so close that the tape has to be reviewed to find out who's won!
But it's not just about winners. Ed's still struggling, so much so that Jaclyn - who was ridiculously far behind - can rest easy as Chris rushes up and easily bypasses Ed. It's no surprise to find that Ed finishes last actually, he gives up and doesn't even finish. That's bad news for him and Jamie, who now have a vote against them poor Jamie, who'd won the women's leg! On the other hand, great news for David and his partner Rachel, who are confirmed as the challenge winners!
That means they're safe this week and they get to go on dates this kind of makes people realise David could well be a threat Anyway, anyone for a sundae to celebrate? First, though, there's some gratuitous hosing down of the women in bikinis. Oh, Bachelor Pad. With everyone worrying about David being a threat, Blakeley takes him aside to basically beg for a place on his date she's worried she's going this week, so she needs that rose. Well, Blakeley's in luck, since she took him on a date last week.
The other lucky ladies? Yeah, that might cause some tension between Blakeley and Jamie, right? Chris wisely muses that David is "clueless" when it comes to girls, but he's happy enough, because he'll finally get some time away from the two women. Another charmer. Anyway, the women and David head to their date - a prom! Jamie's determined to fight for the rose and she thinks she might manage: Of course, for a prom there have to be prom dresses, so the girls leave David for a while to get dressed up.
Unfortunately, this just offers more chance for Jamie and Blakeley to shoot each other death stares. To Jamie's credit, she tries to bury the hatchet and proposes a truce and that they have fun on the date. Anyway, everyone has fun dancing and taking photos at prom I hope he understands this. If he doesn't, karma is a bitch. Except, he's spending "alone time" with Jamie, who he has a "huge crush" on. Yeah, I think we know how this rose ceremony is going to go, don't we?
Especially when Jamie opens up and tearfully admits that she missed her senior prom because of her family problems. Blakeley makes a solid effort, pointing out that David promised to give her his vote, and she wants Jamie out though if I remember correctly, David offered that in exchange for a rose, which Blakeley gave to Chris, so really he owes her zilch.
No surprise when he gives his rose to Jamie, anyway. They finish the evening having a private dance as Erica and Blakeley mutter darkly in the limo on their way home. I'm pretty sure Blakeley says David's now on her "diarrhea list", whatever that is. Anyway, there'll be repercussions. And Erica's there to reassure her that David made the wrong decision though she gets her own Blakeley death stare when she innocently mentiones that Jamie and David make a cute couple. Reid still hoping to kick Ed out this week - helped by the fact that he has a vote against him.
But he's also nervous that Ed will find out that he was behind last week, so he's got to play this right. He takes Ed aside to say he's being naive by hanging around with Chris and Blakeley and gets the dirt that Chris and Blakeley are barely a partnership in return. He advises Ed that he's safe this week - people won't vote for him again - and it all works, because Ed starts gushing about how Reid's his good friend and trustworthy as Reid grins evilly that he's a "wolf in sheep's clothing".
It'll all end in tears, children. Anyway, darkness falls and of course that means it's time for a party the "wildest" yet, according to Sarah. But Ed's being naughty Why are all the women going for Ed's "pickle"? It cannot be the noises he makes in bed. I mean, seriously, they're hilarious. Will Sarah turn on Ed again now, though?
Chris is desperate to be invited on Rachel's date, to avoid Blakeley and Jamie some more. Unlucky - she invites Nick, Tony, and of course Michael. In fact, she's not even thinking about the game, just about spending time with Michael. Anyway, they pull up to Madame Tussaud's and have fun with waxworks, until they come across a Chris Harrison waxwork It's always fun seeing people freaked out, right?
Anyway, then it's their turn to have some fun, so they get made up to look like waxworks and then jump out at unsuspecting fans. The best worst is when the actor accompanying the fans asks what they think of Tony. Hey, at least she was going for "nicer". Tony is clearly not impressed But of course there's a rose to be handed out - who'll get it? Again, it's no surprise to see that Rachel hands it to Michael who's pleased that she's into him like he's into her.
So Nick and Tony are sent back to the mansion in the limo, as Michael and Rachel find a place to snuggle down and talk. Rachel admits that she really likes Michael but is worried about getting her heart broken again. But for his part, Michael says he's not going anywhere. Isn't it cute? Then, naturally, there's a little kissing to be done.
Jamie's feeling pretty good about the Chris situation - he's busy talking game to Blakeley, but she knows that he likes her really. Anyway, she excitedly chats about telling Chris to get rid of Blakeley and being with her instead. Unfortunately, when she goes to see him, he seems more interested in having a sleep than speaking to her. He even pulls out the immortal, horrifying line: So Jamie warns him that if he doesn't put himself out there some times it'll be over.
Chris seems supremely unconcerned and rolls over, while Jamie's left crying in a confessional. She talks about how it's hard for her to trust people and how she just wants to have a family. I hope you're happy now, Chris! Reid gets plotting But with the wrong people! Reid's still working on his plan to get Ed out He urges his alliance to stick with the plan, but will Sarah agree to go along with things again? After all, she did see Ed - who she hooked up with - get it on with Jaclyn.
Well, it looks like despite that, she "owes" something to Ed I have no idea what so she goes to spill all about Reid's plan. It's actually kind of heartbreaking to see Ed's face as he discovers that Reid, who he clearly thought was his friend, has been scheming against him I've enjoyed watching Reid and have been rooting for him, but I did feel sorry for Ed here: Anyway, Ed might be disappointed and he might feel betrayed but now he's got motivation: I'm going to smash this guy.
