I am an introvert, but not shy. I can do fine with people, I just don't need or want a lot of time with people. The more time I spend with a person, though, the less their presence bothers me. It works well for relationships. As you get to know a person, you spend more time with them, and the less they count in your mind as "other" and their presence bother you less. Still gotta take my time alone though. If I'm not that into the person, then I can be perfectly confident, but if during the date I realise I actually really like her, I get super nervous.
My usual fear is that conversation will just dry up, and I'll get nervous and shy. To counteract this, before the date I will reread all the text conversations we've had to refresh my memory, sometimes I'll look up simple conversational prompts for dates online, and I'll always down an energy drink just before, so I'm on the ball. I got used to it and I learned to enjoy silence after a good conversation.
The same as for everyone else. I choose not to be quiet, it doesn't mean I can't be sociable when I need to. I'm an introvert. I am also pretty social and I don't have trouble talking to people. Dating was not a challenge. I didn't date at all until I met my now husband on YouTube comments. When I would try to see if a guy liked to analyze like I do, they either only wanted platonic relationships or gave me blank looks when I tried opening up this side of me.
But trust me, I definitely didn't really put myself out there, because I hate the idea of a circle of dating. Do an activity with one person where we don't have to talk much. Like going to a park or a barcade. It doesn't really. I had a gf for a little while, but her and I were polar opposites. I need my alone time and she needed constant attention, texting everyday and was wanting me to come see her everyday after work. It didn't work out in the end because it was exhausting trying to make her happy but I decided it wasn't worth it.
I still hope to find someone, but in the meantime its the single life for me again. A friend explained me then, all this is brain chemistry and women sometimes need more often attention to make the chemistry for happiness work. Dates I've been on haven't been any problem, Introvert doesn't mean 'socially inept'. The only way it really affects is I don't go out as much as an extrovert would so don't meet so many new people.

I'm 27 and for the last 7 years I was in a serious relationship. We lived together had a house and we're going to be married. The last 3. I can't really picture how dating strangers would work though. So you randomly meet someone and you have a conversation and you get their.
The conversations range from exasperating to disturbing, and the whole of it may make you want to roll your eyes in disgust. Yesterday, a Redditor solicited stories of sexual assault from assailants. Do you regret it? Some of them are tough to read, but their brutal honesty illustrates how a lack of communication and education perpetuates rape culture. Ignoring or dismissing these men and women out of hand may be an effective coping strategy for a given individual, but not for society.
One of the more extraordinary phenomena on the Internet is the rise of altruism and of websites designed to enable it.
